NLPABA'S mission is to work in cooperation with family, school and community for the benefit of our children. To develop and maintain an Afterschool program for our youth that provides the fundamentals of education while focusing on health, wellness and fitness to better target childhood obesity, mostly related to the lack of physical activities. We also strive to provide a safe haven for all children from the violence that the City of Chicago is so well known for.
We cater to those children who are otherwise unable to complete the necessities needed to achieve life’s goals. We also have a program in place designed especially for our graduating seniors who are missing credits. These seniors volunteer after school with helping the smaller children with homework and whatever else is required of them to get the credits needed to graduate.
We believe the fundamental values of our community to be the importance of family, good citizenship, ethical conduct, and moral responsibility. We are doing everything possible to make a positive difference in the lives of our children.
It has always been envisioned that the NLPABA is an environment where the youth can experience the following:
·Learn to positively interact with other youth
·Build personal confidence through playing
·Begin to comprehend and learn the concept of staying healthy
Learn the importance of education, good grades and mannerism
